Joining Design Workshop as a Marketing Coordinator

A New Chapter in My Career

I have some exciting news to share! After several months of job searching, I finally found an opportunity that aligns perfectly with my marketing experience and my personal and professional environmental career goals. On October 31, 2022, I received a job offer from Design Workshop, an international landscape architecture and design firm. I’ll be supporting the Texas offices and contributing to the firm’s marketing and business development efforts.

Quick Trip to Denver for the Job Interview

My journey to this new role took me on a quick trip to Denver for the final interview. One surprising discovery along the way was finding out the Austin Airport has live music inside—an unexpected treat! In Denver, I had the chance to dine near downtown at a unique restaurant located in a former mortuary, which added an interesting twist to the evening.

First Day and Exploring Denver

When I started, my first day at Design Workshop was orientation back at their Denver offices. During lunch, I explored downtown and stumbled upon a vintage thrift store with a bar—definitely a highlight! I also took some fun photos of my hotel’s eclectic downstairs decor and walked along 16th Street, which is currently under construction.

Final Night in Denver

For my final night in Denver during the orientation week, our first restaurant choice was fully booked, so we ventured across a bridge to a Mexican restaurant that was fully decked out for Christmas. It was a festive and memorable way to end my trip.

Gratitude

I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to everyone who supported me during my job search process. Your help and encouragement were greatly appreciated!

I’m thrilled to start this new chapter with Design Workshop and look forward to contributing to their innovative projects.

Stay tuned for more updates and adventures!

Best, Taylor Scott Nelson
