Exploring Design Workshop’s Houston Projects
I recently had the opportunity to embark on another exciting work trip with Design Workshop, this time to our Houston Studio along side members from the Austin Studio. It was a fantastic experience filled with project discussions, site visits, and connecting with colleagues face-to-face.
Day 1 at Design Workshop Houston Studio
I kicked off my trip to Houston with a full day of productive meetings and discussions about our ongoing projects. It was great to collaborate with my colleagues in person, and the energy in the studio was palpable. Despite the Texas heat, the day was filled with insights from a local site tour of Midtown Park followed by a cross-studio outing at The Rustic.

EarthX 2023: Celebrating Environmental Innovation

This year, I headed to Dallas for EarthX, held at the Texas State Fair Grounds. The anticipation was high, and I was eager to immerse myself again in the latest innovations and discussions surrounding environmental conservation.

Exploring Urban Parks with the Houston Team
I recently had an exciting experience that I’d love to share with you. On January 11, 2023, I spent the day at our Houston design studio, where I had the opportunity to meet the team and participate in my first site walk.
Houston Design Studio Visit
My day started with a warm welcome from the Houston team. It was great to finally put faces to names and get to know the talented individuals I’ll be collaborating with on various projects.
Site Walk to Urban Parks
The highlight of the day was going on a site walk to two nearby urban parks, Midtown Park and Bagby Street Park. Seeing the firm’s projects come to life was incredibly inspiring. It’s one thing to see designs on paper, but witnessing the physical spaces and how they interact with the community brings a whole new level of appreciation for the work we do.

I had the pleasure of attending my first professional networking event with my coworkers. It was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues and industry professionals. After the event, I shifted gears and headed for some axe throwing practice ahead of the playoffs. Balancing business and fun is what makes working at Design Workshop so enjoyable!

A Day Full of Adventures
I’m excited to share an eventful weekend with all of you. From axe throwing practice to a nature documentary at a local brewery, here’s a look at my packed social schedule and a memorable visit to Vista Brewing with my girlfriend.
A Full Day of Fun
What a day! I started with watching the World Cup, followed by some axe throwing practice. In the afternoon, I enjoyed a park grill and chill session, and to top it all off, I ended the day at a brewery watching a nature documentary. It was a full and fulfilling day, packed with activities I love.
Vista Brewing and “Deep in the Heart”
We headed to Vista Brewing to watch “Deep in the Heart,” a Texas wildlife documentary narrated by the one and only Matthew McConaughey. The brewery itself is a gem, with a small working farm and apiary onsite, providing fresh ingredients for their kitchen and drinks.
