I wanted to share some highlights from the Meet & Greet events I’ve had the pleasure of hosting this year for the Austin Social Scene (ASS). It’s been an incredible journey of meeting new people, strengthening community bonds, and having a lot of fun along the way.
I’m excited to share some updates from my axe throwing journey with all of you. The past few months have been filled with exciting events, new experiences, and memorable moments with my axe throwing community at Urban Axes in Austin, TX.
Axesgiving and League Updates
On November 12, 2022, we celebrated “Axesgiving” with part of our axe throwing league, including both current and past members. It was a fantastic gathering, filled with great food and even better company.

Getting Fancy and Going Online
Axe throwing is getting fancy! Urban Axes created an outdoor planter divider for the picnic area, adding a touch of elegance to their setup. Additionally, we’re now streaming our matches online, which allows more people to join in on the fun and excitement, even if they can’t be there in person.

I have some exciting news to share! After several months of job searching, I finally found an opportunity that aligns perfectly with my marketing experience and my personal and professional environmental career goals. On October 31, 2022, I received a job offer from Design Workshop, an international landscape architecture and design firm. I’ll be supporting the Texas offices and contributing to the firm’s marketing and business development efforts.
Quick Trip to Denver for the Job Interview
My journey to this new role took me on a quick trip to Denver for the final interview. One surprising discovery along the way was finding out the Austin Airport has live music inside—an unexpected treat! In Denver, I had the chance to dine near downtown at a unique restaurant located in a former mortuary, which added an interesting twist to the evening.
I’m thrilled to share my recent adventure at Willie Nelson’s Luck Ranch for Lucktoberfest. On October 30, 2022, my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of attending this unique event, thanks to her luck in winning free tickets from a local radio station.
A Night of Fun, Swag, and Music
The evening was nothing short of magical. We were greeted with an array of German-inspired music that set the perfect festive tone for the night. The atmosphere was lively, and the crowd was full of energy and excitement. My girlfriend and I managed to score a lot of free swag, adding to the fun and making it a memorable experience.
Pursuing my dreams of owning/operating a ‘Space Colony Glamping Business,’ I registered to attend The Glamping Show USA 2022 in October as a first time attendee! I’m very satisfied with my choice of going to this glamping conference based on everything I learned and experienced firsthand! As the only U.S. Trade Event dedicated to the glamping industry, I’d recommend anyone who’s interested in pursuing glamping to attend.

The Glamping Show USA event offered many opportunities and experiences including:
Expert-Led Conference – learning from the best how to launch or evolve a glamping enterprise. Pros from every corner of the industry share their hard-earned expertise to ensure your success.
Networking Opportunities – gathering information, brainstorming and deal making. Fellow attendees face the similar business challenges and are key to helping find solutions.
Indoor/Outdoor Expo – perusing the wealth of glamping structures, products and services on display at the Expo to ignite the imagination and shape a vision for an outdoor hospitality business.
Pre-show Workshops – pre-show workshops offer in-depth information one needs to know to hit the glampground running.
E-bike Experience – vendors joined forces to bring e-bike test rides to the conference as potential amenities for glamping guests.
Making the most of my trip, I had to check off Denver’s Meow Wolf art immersion experience! I had previously been to another mind-blowing Meow Wolf installation in Santa Fe – so I knew this was going to be a trippy mental and visual overload. This exhibition is 4-stories tall with over 70+ unique installations, rooms, and portals with art from 300 creatives (110+ from Colorado).
“Meow Wolf Denver’s Convergence Station is unforgettable, transformational, and not to be missed. Discover immersive psychedelic, mind-bending art and an underlying rich narrative as you take a journey of discovery into a surreal, science-fictional epic.”
The premise of the “Convergence” story theme is the melding of four separate worlds and the memory wipe of all the displaced citizens. As part of this immersive experience, guests have to solve the mystery behind the convergence, specifically four separate women whose lives are somehow linked to this catastrophe.
