There’s something truly special about helping people find their people.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of creating space for connection, laughter, and belonging—especially for those who are new to Austin, looking to expand their social circles, or simply hoping to have a fun night out. Hosting social events has never just been about filling a venue—it’s about building community, and that’s something I’ve always taken to heart.
Where It All Began: Austin Social Scene
My event-hosting journey began several years ago in 2022 with Austin Social Scene, a Facebook Group with a massive following that brings people together through various social events and meetups across the city. Our events weren’t centered around networking or matchmaking—they were about providing opportunities for making real, in-person, human connections in a city that’s always growing and changing.
From brewery hangouts to bar trivia nights, outdoor gatherings at Zilker park, and even themed costume socials, Austin Social Scene serves as a platform offering something for everyone. We’d have groups of 10 to 100+ people show up—some attending solo, others bringing friends—and within minutes, conversations would spark and laughter would fill the room.
I got to watch people return again and again, becoming familiar faces and eventually forming real friendships. That was the magic of it. Hosting those events made me realize how important it is to create welcoming spaces for adults to connect—without the pressure of formal networking or the awkwardness of showing up alone feeling uninvited.

Taking a Step Back
In mid-2023, after over a year of hosting events, I took a step back from organizing. Like many people, I needed time to rest, reflect, and recharge. The decision to pause wasn’t easy—hosting had become such a big part of my life—but it was necessary.
Throughout 2024, I watched the city continue to buzz with energy and social life from the sidelines while attending events as a regular guest. And while I enjoyed the break and focused mainly on work, something in me was still drawn to the process of planning events, curating experiences, and helping strangers become friends. I missed it. Deeply.
A New Chapter: Taylor-Made Socials
In 2025, I returned to hosting events—but this time, with a new vision and renewed intention. I launched Taylor-Made Socials, my own personal brand for curating casual, friendly, and accessible social mixers across Austin and surrounding areas. The name is a play on my own (Taylor), but also a nod to the idea that the best events are the ones tailor-made to what people truly want—which I feel are low-pressure settings with great conversation and fun activities (not solely based on drinking).
Taylor-Made Socials is rooted in the idea that making friends as an adult shouldn’t be so hard. These events are designed to be welcoming from the moment you walk in—name tags to ease introductions, icebreakers to spark conversations, and games like UNO or cornhole to keep things playful and relaxed.
We host events at familiar, approachable venues:
- Breweries and bars with large patios and dog-friendly vibes
- Outdoor spaces perfect for outdoor weather and casual mingling
- Places like The Brewtorium, Easy Tiger, Little Woodrow’s, and more
- Events that mix it up—food focuses, themed nights, game days, or live music tie-ins
Each gathering is built with a focus on comfort, connection, and community. There’s no cover/ticket charge (*currently), no RSVP pressure, and no cliques—just an open invitation to show up and be part of something real and in-person.

Why I Host
Hosting these events isn’t just a hobby—I feel it’s part of who I am, a calling of sorts. I believe everyone deserves to feel like they belong somewhere, and Taylor-Made Socials is my way of helping people find that space. Whether you come once or become a regular, my hope is that you’ll leave with new connections, or at least really great conversation.
If you’ve ever wanted to meet people in Austin but didn’t know where to start, Taylor-Made Socials is for you. Come as you are. Bring a friend or show up solo. You’ll be greeted with warmth and open arms.
Thanks to everyone who’s supported this journey—those who attended past events with Austin Social Scene, and those showing up now for the next chapter. I can’t wait to see what we create together in 2025 and beyond.
