This blog post is inspired by the guy I met at the “Colorado Welcome Center” who built his own trailer based off the following CLC kit plan from As seen in the Facebook post, he built this portion of the trailer in two weeks but still has another two weeks of final touches.

Roadtrip Day 1 – Photos
The following photos are the highlights from my first day on the road, which really started after I passed Winstar Casino in Oklahoma till the outskirts of Salina Kansas.
This was the initial break in the storm as I was leaving Oklahoma and entering Kansas.

What’s an adventure without your trusty steed?
I’m pretty sure I overpacked, but I would rather have something and not need it, than need it and not have it. And I somehow managed to have left over space to see out the rear window, see all rear blind spots, and have quick access to the cooler and my camera gear.
So far, I’ve had to stop several times to secure my bike, the yoga mats on the roof, and readjust the roof bag and straps. The downside to the bag is the sail effect while diving in high winds…
