Austin Trip – Community First Village
Community First! Village Tour
I came across Community First! Village a couple of years ago while researching online, so I was really looking forward to visiting it in person! Knowing that this planned community for the chronically homeless sprouted from Mobile Loaves & Fishes, a christian-based mobile food service for the homeless, was very inspiring – so I made sure this was a pillar stop on my trip. And yet again, I had my mind and expectations blown sky high!
Austin Tour – Mueller Park
Mueller Park
I stumbled on Mueller Park looking for a coffee shop with free WiFi while I killed some time before my next stop of the day. I initially pulled over at the food truck park, which I stopped at years ago if I remember correctly, but wanted somewhere that I could actually sit down, so I drove into the heart of Mueller Park!

Planning my Eco-Inspired Road Trip Blog Post
My Travel Story:
Leaving Arizona, I spent the day driving through the desert into New Mexico on my way to the City of the Sun in Columbus, New Mexico, with the aim of getting there in the middle of the afternoon so we could go into Mexico and checkout the nonprofit projects my host was involved with.
I arrived at the City of the Sun, which initially looked like a mobile home park up front – but as I drove towards the back of the community, there were less manufactured mobile homes and more alternative architecture structures, tiny homes and creative compounds. (more…)
The CLC Teardrop DIY Trailer
The DIY Trailer (as seen on my roadtrip)
This blog post is inspired by the guy I met at the “Colorado Welcome Center” who built his own trailer based off the following CLC kit plan from As seen in the Facebook post, he built this portion of the trailer in two weeks but still has another two weeks of final touches.
Here is the promotional video of what the finished teardrop trailer camper looks like.
