Christmas Celebrations and Holiday Cheer

I hope you’re enjoying the holiday season as much as I have been! Recently, I had the pleasure of celebrating Christmas and spreading festive cheer with my social group and friends. Here’s a recap of some memorable moments:

Christmas Tree Costume Fun

One of the highlights of my Christmas celebrations was wearing my Christmas Tree Costume again at our social group’s Christmas gathering. It was a delightful surprise to find someone else wearing a similar jacket, making for a fun and festive photo opportunity!

We kicked off the holiday spirit with an Improv Jam Session with friends, showcasing their talent and creativity. Afterwards, we continued the festivities with a tour of East Austin breweries, enjoying local brews and the lively atmosphere of the season.

Thanksgiving Adventure in Costa Rica

I recently had the incredible opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving in Costa Rica, embarking on a journey filled with breathtaking landscapes, thrilling adventures, and memorable experiences. Here’s a glimpse into my Costa Rican Thanksgiving adventure:

Thanksgiving Flight to Liberia

We kicked off our adventure with a Thanksgiving flight to Liberia, Costa Rica, on the west coast. Our destination: the beautiful town of Coco. Upon arrival, we indulged in a local food buffet at El Jardín, a central tourist hub, marking the beginning of our holiday getaway.

Arrival in Coco and Beachside Bliss

Arriving after sunset in Coco, we initially found ourselves slightly lost, but the sound of the ocean from our villa reassured us of our serene surroundings. The next morning greeted us with a spectacular view of the ocean, setting the stage for a day of exploration and relaxation.

Eeyore’s Birthday Party

Another pandemic postponed tradition was Eeyore’s Birthday. It’s a celebration of the fictitious mopey character from the Winnie-the-Pooh franchise. Since this was the first year of this mini-festival during the pandemic, I was very excited to attend!

Eeyore’s Birthday Party is a day-long festival taking place annually in Austin, Texas since 1963. It typically occurs on the last Saturday of April in Austin’s Pease District Park. It includes live music, food and drink vending which benefit local non-profit organizations, attendees in colorful costumes, and very large drum circles. The event is frequented by children and families, with specific events presented for them by the event organizers. The festival is named in honor of Eeyore, a character in A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh stories.
