More Axe Throwing Adventures

Celebrating Axesgiving and More

I’m excited to share some updates from my axe throwing journey with all of you. The past few months have been filled with exciting events, new experiences, and memorable moments with my axe throwing community at Urban Axes in Austin, TX.

Axesgiving and League Updates

On November 12, 2022, we celebrated “Axesgiving” with part of our axe throwing league, including both current and past members. It was a fantastic gathering, filled with great food and even better company.

Getting Fancy and Going Online

Axe throwing is getting fancy! Urban Axes created an outdoor planter divider for the picnic area, adding a touch of elegance to their setup. Additionally, we’re now streaming our matches online, which allows more people to join in on the fun and excitement, even if they can’t be there in person.

Black Friday Special and Family Fun

In November, I took advantage of the Urban Axes Black Friday 2-for-1 special with my mom and stepdad. Richard, my stepdad, scored his first clutch (the little green dot), and I’m proud to say they’re well on their way to becoming pro axe throwers!

Ending the Season with a Bang

We wrapped up the last axe league season of 2022 at Urban Axes with a white elephant gift exchange and playoffs in early December. It was another great season of stiff competition and camaraderie with the axe crew.

Goth-Themed Potluck and Stepping Back

In February, we had a goth-themed potluck for our axe throwing league. Remember, goths don’t smile! It was a fun and unique way to bond with fellow throwers.

A New Chapter

In March, we wrapped up another season of axe throwing, finishing in a tie for 7th place. As I step back from league competition next season, I’ll be exploring other hobbies but will continue to throw axes just for fun.
